Software for a One Piece Card Shop: Managing Allocation
Tight display allocations, stretched pre-orders, singles and buybacks: what software must handle to run a One Piece Card Game shop without overselling.
By the Echo TCG team — software editor, working hand in hand with card shops.
In two years One Piece Card Game has built demand that supply does not follow. For a shop the subject is therefore not selling: it is keeping a promise when six displays arrive instead of ten. Here is what software must handle.
Allocation, and what it forces
Quantities received are rarely the ones ordered. The moment you take pre-orders you commit to stock you do not have yet. You must know, without hesitating, who paid first and how many units are genuinely left.
The rule that avoids most trouble: what is reserved is no longer sellable. Not on the shelf, not on any online channel. Without it the same box goes out twice and you refund a customer who comes back less often.
Single cards
Demand has shifted towards singles, alternate arts in particular. As on other games, one card does not have one price but several, along criteria the software must carry.
- Condition: NM, LP, MP, HP, DMG.
- Language: Japanese and English printings do not sell at the same price.
- The original block and set.
- Grading, which makes the card a distinct product.
A built-in catalogue, with the image and a reference price from Cardmarket, avoids inventing a price at the counter and regretting it two weeks later.
Second-hand buybacks
Buying from a private seller is regulated in France: the police register records the purchase and the seller's identity, and margin VAT (art. 297 A) applies on resale. Both obligations apply whatever the game.
Tournaments
Official results go through Bandai TCG+, which exposes no API. Shop software does not replace it. It does handle sign-ups, entry fees taken like any sale, prizes, and exporting the list.
Compliance is not optional
Any POS software used in France must be NF525 compliant: tamper-proof sales, chaining, Z closing. This is independent of the game sold.
Echo TCG was designed and studied for card shops only: built-in One Piece catalogue, stock reserved at pre-order time, buybacks with a police register and automatic margin VAT.
Frequently asked questions

- Reserve stock physically at pre-order time and take a deposit. What is reserved must no longer be sellable on the shelf or online, otherwise the same box goes out twice and you have to refund.
- Can tournaments be run from the till?
